Melvin English

Melvin English of Wentzville, formerly of Montgomery County, passed away on May 17, 2019 at the age of 81.

He was born Dec. 15, 1937, in Jonesburg.

Melvin loved his family and enjoyed spending his time with them. He was a member of the Union Local 53. Melvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, barbecuing, and playing church softball, Blues music and the lottery. Melvin loved to joke with people and getting "all dressed up." He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was the beloved husband of Anna English nee Hamm.

He is survived by his six sons, Carl Hunter of Indiana, Mark Hunter of Missouri, Bart English of Missouri, Michael English of Missouri, Rodney English of Missouri, Donald Hamm of Nevada; three daughters, Carol Terrell of Colorado, Annette Robinson of Missouri, Anita English of Missouri; two sisters, Shirley Davis of Missouri, Glenda Cole of Missouri; many, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Clyde English, mother, Alice English, 3, brothers, 4, sisters.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Thursday, May 23 at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in Eternal Peace Cemetery, Wentzville.
