Irene Cassmeyer

Irene Cassmeyer (nee Pangburn) 81, of Greeneville, Tenn., formerly of Bellflower, passed away on June 12, 2021. She was born on April 22, 1940 to Delmas Pangburn and Irene (nee Sertier) Pangburn in University City. Irene was united in marriage to her late husband, Allen "Al" Cassmeyer Sr., on July 15, 1961 in St. Louis. Mr. and Mrs. Cassmeyer resided in St. Louis before relocating to Wentzville, then Silex.
 
She leaves behind four children, Christina Yates of Greeneville; Allen Cassmeyer Jr. (Donna) of High Hill; Mary Dove (James) of Bellflower; and Sheryl Urhahn (Francis) of Eureka; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and her sister Rose Cozort of Hazelwood.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmas and Irene Pangburn; her husband Allen R. Cassmeyer Sr.; her son, Roger J. Cassmeyer; sister Nila Hensley; and two brothers Donald and Bruce Pangburn.
 
Irene was a homemaker for 35 years before moving to Bellflower with her daughter, Mary Dove (nee Cassmeyer). She moved to Greeneville with her daughter, Christina, in July 2020. She was an avid bowler, sitting on a bowling league in Troy during the late 70's and early 80's. She was also an avid bingo player and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She loved spending time and caring for her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren during her spare time. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish of Troy before becoming a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellflower.
 
The family wants to thank all her caregivers, including Carolyn Phillips of Greeneville, Amedisys Hospice of Greeneville and Dr. Lewis of Greeneville, and everyone for their kindness and acts of love and prayers during her time of illness.
 
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. on June 18 and also from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. on June 19 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone Street in Troy.
 
Funeral service scheduled at 11 a.m. on June 19 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory in Troy. Rev. James Huckabee will officiate the services. Serving as pallbearers will be James Ethington, Adam Graves, Matthew Dove, Andrew Dove, A.J. Robinson, and Giovanni Urhahn. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Troy.
 
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Bellflower Mission Uganda in care of Mccoy-Blossom Funeral Homes, 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO 63379.
