Bill Hines

William Bradley "Bill" Hines, son of Walter and Ida A. Madden Hines, was born January 12, 1949, in Manhattan, Kan., and departed this life on Feb. 7, 2022, at his home in Lebanon (Laclede County) at the age of 74 years.

Bill, as he was known to family and friends, enjoyed anything outdoors, from camping and fishing to working on his land, watching the fish and deer and tinkering with anything that needed fixing.  He served in the United States Army in Vietnam, where he was wounded and became permanently disabled.  He loved his family and his dogs. 

On September 22, 2000, he was united in marriage with Harvette Heafling. Together, they shared 22 years of laughter and memories.

Bill is survived by his wife, Harvette, of the home; children, Christian Hines and Eric Wayne White, both of Lebanon; and Waynette White of Montgomery City; grandchildren, Heather Schmidt and husband Ben of Montgomery City; and Rodney Bernat of O’Fallon; great- grandchildren: Sophia, Payten, Nova, Paisley and Emma; one sister, Anita of Oklahoma; and other relatives and many friends. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

Those who knew Bill will forever cherish the times they shared together. He will be deeply missed. 

A service was held for Bill on Feb. 28 at Ft. Leonard Wood State Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville. His body was cremated under the direction of Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
