Billie Jean Jones Kemp, 65, of Montgomery City, died on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

Billie Jones Kemp was born April 29, 1957 in Mexico (Audrain County) to James M. “Snookie” Jones and Delores Christian Jones Hank. She graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School. She married Richard Wayne Kemp in Montgomery City on July 8, 1978. They were married for over 42 years until Richard preceded Billie in death on January 9, 2021. Billie enjoyed poetry, word search puzzles and visiting with her family and friends.

Billie Jones Kemp is survived by her sons: Jeffrey Wayne Kemp and John William Kemp, both of Montgomery City; grandson, Lyric Anthony Kemp of Montgomery City  and granddaughter, Gracie Lynn Kemp of Springfield. Also surviving are her siblings: Jay Jones of Montgomery City; Virginia Davis of Montgomery City; Faye Koosmann and husband, Dave, of Iowa; and Bessie Elsenrath and husband, Richard of Mokane; sisters-in-law: Renee Harrison and husband, Jim, of Fulton; Tamie Ernst and husband, Joe, of Alabama; Wilma Wall and husband, Danny, of Holts Summit; Teresa Jett and husband, Wayne, of Mokane; Stephanie Mahnken and husband, P.J. of Fulton; Mary Kay Kemp of New Bloomfield; and Linda Kemp of Bland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, James M. “Snookie” Jones and Delores Christian Jones Hank; stepfather, John Hank; brothers-in-law: Wallace Kemp, D. D. Kemp, Frances Lynn Kemp, Joe Kemp, J. C. Kemp, David Kemp, and Leslie Dean Kemp; sisters-in-law: Sis Duraham and Kaye Love.

Billie will be cremated and private services will be held at a later date.
