Robert William “Bob” Kelsick, age 88, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at his home.

He was born on March 27, 1938, in Danville, the son of Fenton Harvey and Clara Jane (Spathelf) Kelsick. He was married on May 20, 1967, in Jefferson City, to Carol Jo Tillman who survives at the home.

After graduating from Montgomery County High School in 1956, Bob continued his education at Hannibal-LaGrange University, graduating in 1958. He then attended Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, where he earned a degree in civil engineering in 1960.

Following graduation, Bob began his professional career with the Missouri Department of Transportation. Over the course of 36 years of dedicated service, he advanced to the position of senior design engineer before retiring in 1996. Not one to remain idle, Bob continued serving his community through the Jefferson City Public Works, where he worked from 1996-2001.

For more than 30 years, Bob was an avid bowler, spending Thursday nights at Midstate Lanes competing with a variety of teams. His final team, known as Ken's, held a special place in his heart. Throughout much of his bowling career, Bob faithfully served as league secretary, dedicating countless hours to supporting the sport and the many friendships he formed along the way. His passion for bowling became a cherished family tradition, one he proudly passed on to his daughter and grandson.

Bob also enjoyed gathering around the card table with fellow colleagues from District 5, sharing laughter, stories and friendly games. He fostered a love of games within his own family, creating treasured memories with his daughter and grandchildren that will be remembered for years to come.

Among Bob's fondest memories were attending Veterans Day celebrations with his grandchildren, Rachel and Joshua, throughout their elementary and middle school years. He especially enjoyed walking in parades and proudly watching Rachel and Joshua participate in musical performances. These moments brought him immense happiness and reflected the deep love and pride he had for his family.

Bob will be remembered for his dedication to family, his commitment to his community, his enthusiasm for bowling, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know and love him.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol; daughter, Sonya Land (Brian) of Chesterfield; siblings, John Kelsick (Janis) and David Kelsick (Edie); and grandchildren, Rachel and Joshua Land.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Jane Kelsick.

Graveside services and interment were held at Riverview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
