Brad Whyte

Bradley A. Whyte, age 53 of Blue Ridge, Ga., passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023, surrounded by family. He was a native of Bellflower and a graduate of Montgomery County R-II High School. 

Brad lived in Fort Myers, Fla., for several years before moving to Blue Ridge. He followed in his father’s footsteps and worked as a butcher. Brad also worked as a long-haul trucker for Great Central Trucking out of Kansas City, hauling throughout the United States. He enjoyed BBQ and gathering with family and friends.

He was the son of Patricia Ann Kriz Whyte and the late James Marvin Whyte of Murphy, formerly of Bellflower. In addition to his father, Brad was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marvin and Frances Whyte; and maternal grandfather, Art Kriz.

In addition to his mother, Brad is also survived by his wife, Lynne Whyte of Blue Ridge, Ga.; son, Christopher Clemonds; two brothers, Randy Whyte and wife, Sandy of Montgomery City and Craig Whyte of Robbinsville, N.C.; one niece, Jessica Whyte Fischer and husband, Chris of Truxton; one nephew, Josh Whyte and wife, Shay, of Columbia; and his two beloved Dachshunds, Maggie and Buddy.

A celebration of life will be held at the Bellflower Community Hall at a later date. Interment will take place in Bellflower Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in memory of Brad Whyte be made to the Bellflower Cemetery Fund. Ivie Funeral Home in Murphy, N.C. is in charge of arrangements. An online guest register is available at www.iviefuneralhome.com.
