Chester Boeke

Chester Lee Boeke, 77, of St. Charles, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, in Washington (Franklin County).

Chester was born on July 9, 1945, in Maryland Heights, the son of Chester Boeke and Emma Lee (Sublette) Boeke. After he graduated from high school, he attended the police academy and earned a real-estate license. He served in the Missouri District 82 House of Representatives and was a member of Masonic Lodge #241 in St. Charles and the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Maryland Heights.

Chester owned his own fence and handyman company for over 25 years. He was always busy with home improvements and caring for his yard and flowers. Chester loved to travel and spend time at the cabin he built in the woods in Potosi. He also enjoyed collecting antiques and bird figurines, especially cardinals.

Mr. Boeke is survived by his three children, Tammy Lee (and Don) Noel of St. Albans, Joseph Scott Boeke of Potosi, Dawn Michelle McClanahan of Farmington; grandchildren, Brandt S. (and Kristina) Clemons of Pace, Fla., Kaylee D. (and Caleb) Noel-Hicks of Nashville, Tenn., Olivia M. Noel of Dallas, Texas, Seth R. Noel of Iowa City, Iowa, Carson D. McClanahan of Farmington, Zeb E. Boeke of Hillsboro; one great-granddaughter, Stella Clemons; sisters, Emilie “Rae” Scott of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Sheryll Glenn of Wentzville: nephew, Gary Glenn of Palm Coast, Fla., and nieces, Karen Engler of O’Fallon and Deanna (and Rod) Scott of Marion, Iowa.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Emma Lee Boeke.

A funeral service will be held on 1 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Reverend Keith Gillming from Lighthouse Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in High Hill. The casketbearers will be Joseph Boeke, Brandt Clemons, Don Noel, Seth Noel, Zeb Boeke and Carson McClanahan.
