After opening his first Cornerstone Chiropractic facility at Warrenton more than two years ago, Daniel Roach wanted to expand.
So he turned an old restaurant in New Florence into his second Cornerstone Chiropractic facility. The clinic, located at 1 Proactive Drive, was open for business on Oct. 31.
“We decided that we wanted to try to bring chiropractic out to the Montgomery County area as well because we have been in Warrenton,” said Roach, who lived in Jonesburg and Montgomery City. “So we picked this location. It is pretty accessible by everybody. It’s right off the highway. Everybody is able to get in and see a chiropractor when they need to.”
On Dec. 15, the new facility had a ribbon-cutting ceremony that was attended by several staff members as well as Montgomery City Area Chamber of Commerce president Desiree Peak and New Florence Alderwoman Michelle Fortmann.
The New Florence clinic is staffed by Dr. Reed Schulze and chiropractic assistant Vanessa Sanders, who did the ribbon cutting. Roach said he enjoyed visiting the New Florence facility, which is right off I-70.
“It was exciting because I’ve been in the Warrenton office,” Roach said. “I haven’t been able to come out and visit. We have a bunch of patients there. So I was excited to come out and get to see the offices. They look awesome.”
After graduating from college in 2010, Roach ran a clinic in Lake St. Louis for about 10 years before selling it to open a new clinic in Warrenton.
Schulze said he and Roach first talked about opening a clinic in Montgomery County during the fall of 2021.
“In the beginning of this year, we started to get all of our plans going and look for places,” Schulze said. “So by June and July, we were like, ‘OK, it looks like everything is pretty much set to go. Let’s start marketing. Let’s start talking to other businesses and get to meet the community.’ Twelve weeks after that, we had this place up and going.”
Schulze said the new facility has attracted plenty of customers after the first two months.
“Honestly, we’ve been blown up quite a bit in the first month,” Schulze said. “We helped 50 patients get to feeling better. We already have one move into our wellness program, which is awesome. So she understands the importance of chiropractic and how she needs to maintain this alignment in order to stay feeling better. A lot of them are getting that message and our understanding.”
Schulze has been a chiropractor for two years. He worked with mission groups in El Salvador and had an eight-month internship at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
Schulze said working in El Salvador was quite of an experience.
“It was a lot of fun,” he said. “That was during school. I went out to very impoverished towns out there in El Salvador. Three or four days out of that week, I was out there strictly adjusting and talking and trying to talk with the locals. A lot of them have benefited quite a bit from it. We’ve done that for many years. We built such a name for it.”
Cornerstone is currently accepting new patients. Exam consultation and X-rays are $49. All new patient fees will be donated to Feeding MOCO.
Also, the facility has the Give Back Movement program, which offers free wellness programs to any business.
