Diane Elizabeth Porter Happe, 75, of rural Montgomery City, died on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.

Diane Elizabeth Happe was born in St. Louis on December 24, 1945 to Oliver L. Porter and Theodora E. Harris Porter. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School and married Francis Stephen Happe on May 18, 1968 in St. Louis. They were married for over 53 wonderful years. Diane retired from First Bank after working many years as a teller. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, a member of St. Vincent De Paul, enjoyed doing craft projects, and loved everything to do with family. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Diane is survived by her husband, Francis Stephen Happe of rural Montgomery City; two children: Steve Happe and wife, Trisha, of rural Montgomery City; and Laura Hirshinger and husband, Patrick, of Auxvasse; four grandchildren: Jonah, Thomas, Matt and wife, Makenzie, and Isaac; and three great-grandchildren: Spencer, Jensen, and Ayden. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Jesse Porter of Warrenton; and two nephews: Theodore Porter and wife, Deborah, and Matthew Porter, and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver L. Porter and Theodora E. Harris Porter; son, Mark Happe; and brother, David Porter.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City. Father Joseph Abah will officiate and interment will be in the Williamsburg Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City and the next day from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Casketbearers include Joe Prouhet, Rob Happe, Tim Happe, Ross Timmerberg, Matt Porter, and Jim Wortmann. Honorary casketbearers include her Grandsons, Jonah, Thomas, Matt and Isaac.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Pony Bird, The Parkinson Foundation, or to the Compassus Hospice in care of Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO 63361.
