The MCHS FCCLA chapter is proud to host its 10th Annual Paddle Auction on Nov. 4.
Please plan to join the students at the Montgomery County R-II Middle School multipurpose room for a fun event meant to raise funds to send students to leadership conferences and support students community service projects.
This event features over 70 items created by MCHS Entrepreneurship and ProStart Culinary Arts students. It also features vendors and donations from the local community.
Participants will be able to check out a tufted Wildcats sweatshirt that was made by senior Claire Cobb, a member of the FCCLA.
“I like being able to visualize something and then create it. It’s cool when someone buys what I make,” Cobb said.
Generally, the entrepreneurship class can only handle producing items to sell among students and staff, so this event offers them the opportunity to get out in the community. Charcuterie boards were popular last year. Even the class’s take on Crumbl cookies will be available. Items like FCCLA’S Elf on the Shelf kits to help parents prepare for the upcoming holiday season will also be sold. For each kit sold, the FCCLA chapter raises funds to meet its service goal of donating $500 to adopt children in our community this Christmas.
Doors will open at 4:30 pm and the event will begin at 5 p.m. If you want to participate but can’t attend, virtual paddles are available for purchase. A virtual paddle costs $75, guaranteeing participants an automatic prize if their paddles are drawn. Items won will be delivered to the participants after the event. Any food item won will be available in-person only, and virtual paddles will get a gift certificate and access to the next entrepreneurship storefront. To purchase a virtual paddle, visit https://my.cheddarup.com/c/mchsfcclapaddleauction.
The chapter encourages participants to bring quarters and prepare themselves for a great time.
