Ginny Bruning

Virginia “Ginny” Bruning, 74, of Bellflower, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 3, 1948, in Pearl, Ill., to Roy Albert and Eula Iona (Bauser) Masters. She attended the local schools along with her seven siblings. 

Ginny was employed as a machine/forklift operator at Reckitt Benckiser for over 19 years and was an excellent employee. She was a wonderful cook and was well known for her delicious holiday meals, chicken and noodles and, of course, her fried chicken. Ginny was united in marriage to John “Dave” Bruning on May 30, 1992, in St. Peters. They enjoyed many years spent together with their family and friends.

Ginny is survived by her loving husband, John “Dave” Bruning of Bellflower; her children:  Karen Kiser of Joplin, Vicki (Mark) Spence of Moscow Mills, Jerry (Jen) Kiser of  O’Fallon, Katie (Nathan) Cox of Overland Park, Kan., Melinda (David) Kleine of  Lee’s Summit, Paul (Dawn) Bruning of Wright City, Julie (Stacey) Acup of Belton and bonus daughter, Rena Schlueter of Joplin; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Eula Bruemleve, Marjorie Stricklin and Joyce Barton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Eula Masters; and her siblings,Marilyn Barton, Gary Masters, Linda Rosenbaum and Wanda Masters.

Visitation was held on March 5 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory in Troy. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. on March 6. Rev. Mark Spence will officiate. Interment will be at Troy City Cemetery.
