As Google continues investing in Montgomery County, it is also investing in the students who will help shape the community’s future.
Through its community grant initiative, local scholarship organizations are receiving funding to help more graduating seniors pursue higher education and build successful futures.
Facilitated by the Greater Montgomery County Port Authority, the community grant program supports organizations that strengthen local communities through education, workforce development, and quality-of-life initiatives. By investing in local students, these grants help remove financial barriers to higher education while creating opportunities that benefit the entire community.
Among this year’s grant recipients is the MCR II Bright Light Scholarship Foundation, which received $30,000 to expand scholarship opportunities for graduates of Montgomery County High School. The foundation provides financial assistance to students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend college, helping them pursue higher education and achieve their academic and career goals.
Also receiving funding is the Wellsville-Middletown R-I High School Student Scholarships program, which was awarded $25,000 to provide scholarships for graduating students from Wellsville-Middletown R-I High School. The funding will help students continue their education by reducing financial barriers and supporting their pursuit of college, technical training or other post-secondary opportunities.
Together, these investments reflect a shared commitment to ensuring that local students have access to educational opportunities that prepare them for future success. By supporting scholarship programs across Montgomery County, the community grant initiative is helping students achieve their goals while strengthening the county’s future workforce and communities.
“We appreciate Google’s investment in our school and our students. Their financial support will allow us to expand opportunities for our students while continuing to be responsible stewards of the community resources entrusted to us,” said Tiffany Gosseen, Wellsville-Middletown Superintendent.
