Harry “Buddy” McCafferty, 71, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in New Florence.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 10 a.m.-noon at Schlanker Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at noon and an interment at New Florence City Cemetery. Thomas Murphy will be officiating the service.

Harry was born on October 7, 1951 in St. Louis to Harry and Norma (Newberry) McCafferty.

Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He married his wife, Gail, on November 22, 1974. They spent 48 loving years together. Harry was an avid outdoorsman and took great pride in his garden.

Despite battling many health issues over the last 23 years, Harry remained in good spirits. He knew no stranger, adored his family, made fond memories of fishing, swimming and watching wrestling and spent countless hours being a “Brownie Dad.” Harry will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother.
