Harry Harland Schmidt of rural Montgomery City passed away on Aug. 15, 2026.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1940 in St. Louis to Harry Joseph Schmidt and Iva Mae Grisham. He married Betty Louise Humphrey of Iberia (Miller County) on Jan. 9, 1960. Out of that union were six children.
Harry served in the United States Army with an honorable discharge in his early years. He spent most of his life being a livestock and agricultural farmer. He is preceded in death by his wife, two children, his parents and seven siblings. He is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private family burial will be at the High Point cemetery.
