Hildegard Helm, 90, of New Florence, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025 at St. Joseph's Hospital West in Lake St. Louis.
Hildegard was born in Hamburg, Germany on November 26, 1934, the daughter of the late Hans William Walter & Elvira Elizabeth (Henke) Wegener.
She was united in marriage to Donald W. Hoffmann on August 6, 1955 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Hermann. Together they had four children, Robert, Annette, Sandra and Dale. Donald preceded her in death on October 20, 1968. She later remarried to Dr. James Otis Helm on May 10, 1969. James preceded her in death on September 20, 1973.
Hildegard was the owner of Prime Time Restaurant in Montgomery City for many years.
She is survived by a son, Robert Lee Hoffmann & wife Diana, of New Florence; a daughter, Sandra Lynne Teson & husband Wayne of New Florence; a son, Dale Allen Hoffmann & wife Kim, of Eldon; a sister, Gisela Poore, of LaBelle (Lewis County); 10 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald Hoffmann; her second husband, Dr. James Helm; a daughter, Annette Marie Harrison; and a grandson, Justin Wayne Teson.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. on April 17 at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in Hermann. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens in Hermann. Memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
