A 29-year-old male driver from Kansas City and a 30-year-old female passenger from an unknown residence were seriously injured from an accident on eastbound I-70 outside Mineola on the evening of April 12.
Both were riding the 2014 Toyota Tundra. They were transported to University Hospital.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as the Tundra ran off the left side of the roadway, steered back to the right, returned to the roadway and overcorrected, running off the right side of the roadway. It overturned multiple times, rolling down an embankment, struck several trees and came to rest on its wheels.
