Independent Stave Company of New Florence donated $2,053 to Audrain Emergency Communications LLC to support its continued effort to keep Missouri connected in case of an emergency situation.
Josh Plank, a log buyer for Independent Stave Co., is a member of AECI. He had the honor of presenting the check to president Jeff Carlisle during AECI’s annual Field Day, when ham radio operators took out the emergency communications trailer and attempted to make as many contacts as possible in a 24-hour period.
Plank said Independent Stave Company regularly gives each location money to donate to local law enforcement, fire departments, schools or, in this case, emergency communications.
“We’re hoping our company can start the process of other local businesses and places around here to invest in our emergency communications,” Plank said. “We haven’t had to do anything yet, but we want to be able to assist law enforcement and first responders if ever needed.”
