James “Jim” Paul Horn, 71, of New Florence, died on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.

James Paul Horn was born on November 8, 1951 in Perryville to Leonard Horn and Pearl Horn. A graduate of Hermann High School, Jim married Jean Prior on May 29, 1971 at the Montgomery County Courthouse. They were married for over 51 wonderful years. 

Jim retired after working over 39 years at Binkley Company now known as SAF Holland in Warrenton. He was a member of the IAMAW Local 1745 for over 50 years. Jim enjoyed fishing, taking long drives, watching animals and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jean Prior Horn of New Florence; two children: Paul Horn and wife, Jessica, of Montgomery City; and Tonya Hollensteiner and husband, Randy, of Montgomery City; five grandsons, Dylan Horn and wife, Sabrina; Daniel Horn; Shayne Horn; Seth Horn; and Ethan Horn; five great-grandchildren: Michael, Lilly, James, Anna and Zoie; brothers and sister: Marvin Horn and wife, Sharon, of Jonesburg; Norman Horn and wife, Mary, of Jonesburg; and Barb Copeland of Jonesburg; sister-in-law, Vicki Horn of Americus; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Pearl Horn; Brother, Joe Horn; Sisters: Margie Rowmaker and Nancy Horn; and Brothers-in-law: Dennis Copeland and Dennis Crutz.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church on Highway Y in Jonesburg. Brochell Sherman will officiate and interment will be in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the church.
