Johnny Dee Thurmon aka Old Man passed away September 28, 2025 at home with family.
Johnny was born on January 28, 1934 to Thomas and Katherine Thurmon. He grew up in Troy, graduating at Troy Buchanan High School. He proudly served 24 years in the Army/National Guard.
After retirement his hobbies included playing pool, rodeos, fishing and playing music with friends. He was always there when someone was in need and will truly be missed.
Johnny is survived in death by his sons Denny (April), Craig (Rose) Shawn (Theresa) and Clayton (Robin); 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Katherine; wife Connie; son Kenny; granddaughter, Katie; and brothers Gene, Joe and infant brother.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 11 at Wabash Park in Montgomery City.
