Kenneth Duane Holden, 88 of Jonesburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, at Kingdom Care Senior Living in Fulton.

A memorial service will be held for Ken and Arlene (his wife) in Jonesburg at a later date.

Ken was born on November 29, 1936 in Wilton, N.D., the son of Ivan and Marion (Eliason) Holden. He married Arlene Dale Tjenstrom on September 10, 1960 in California.

Ken was a graduate of Wilton High School and Bismarck Junior College. He was a lifetime member of the Jonesburg Lions Club, a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a 30-year board member of the Jonesburg Rural Fire Department. He retired from McDonnell Douglas where he was an engineer on the F/A 18 Navy Hornet Fighter jet, in addition to many others. He also continued his Income Tax and Bookkeeping business for years after he retired. His true love was always the farm, having been born and raised in a farm family. Family was very important to Ken, especially his grandchildren and teaching them about the farm. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and service to his community.

Ken will be deeply missed by his daughter Barbara Brouster of Kingdom City; son, Barry Holden of California; four grandchildren, Timothy Holden and Jessica Holden of California, Samantha Holden of Florida and Sarah (Brent) Sims of Mexico (Audrain County); and two great-granddaughters, Kaycee Sims of Mexico and Allison (Taylor) Nelson of Columbia.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Marion; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Daniel and Ada Tjenstrom; son-in-law Robert Brouster; grandson, Dale Brouster; brother Donald; and sisters, Aldene and Jeanne.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Jonesburg Lions Club. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson St., Mexico, MO 65265.
