Join the Montgomery County community in celebrating the 22nd Annual George Lipscomb Memorial Toy Ride on November 5 at City Hall in Montgomery City from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. This is a fun and impressive parade of over 200 motorcycles that will travel on Highway 19 from City Hall in Montgomery City to the Hermann Eagles Hall in Hermann. Come out and watch this parade that begins at 1:30 p.m. and kicks off the holiday season!
George Lipscomb was a fellow motorcycle enthusiast and friend with a huge heart for kids and giving to his community. He was the driving force behind the original idea to start this annual Ride in 2002. Sadly, George passed away and the remaining committee members thought it only fitting to honor him by naming the ride in his memory. George personified the idea of giving to those less fortunate.
Last year, an impressive parade of about 245 motorcycles left Montgomery City and traveled to Hermann to the Eagles Hall. The ride raised $10,000. As in past years, the money was equally divided between the Montgomery County Youth in Need and the Hermann Area Community Christmas.
This year, during the registration process at City Hall in Montgomery City, a 50-50 drawing and a gun raffle will be offered. Ride officials appreciate everyone who gave support over the past 22 years. Everyone’s participation and generosity are greatly appreciated. The Committee hopes to make this year an even bigger and better success and encourages everyone to join the community in bringing a smile to a child’s face during the upcoming holiday season.
