Marilyn Virginia Guffey (nee Cunningham), of Saint Charles, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the age of 82.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late Dannie W. Guffey; cherished daughter of P.K. and Goldie Cunningham; devoted mother of Arnold (Bridget) Guffey, Daryl (Patricia) Guffey, Todd Guffey and Lori Guffey; loving grandmother of Benjamin (Montana) Guffey, Austin Guffey, Connor Guffey, Daniel Guffey, Alexis Guffey, Allana Guffey, Allison Guffey, Olivia Guffey, Payton Guffey and Amanda Guffey; treasured great-grandmother of five; dear sister of Nancy (Tom) Montgomery, Lynn (Tim) Duncan, the late Thomas Cunningham, the late Kenneth (Marlene) Cunningham and the late Joyce (Wayne) Weldon.
Marilyn had a 40-year career in the electric utility industry. She retired from Fletcher Reinhardt after 15 years with the family owned local company.
Marilyn was a woman of faith. She was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Charles. She was exceedingly kind and gracious. She was a quiet woman but had a heart full of love to share with her family and friends. She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who held her family near and dear to her.
Marilyn enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She loved the joy of the Christmas season, even acquiring an elaborate ornament collection over the years. Marilyn was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family is being served by Baue Funeral Home. A funeral mass is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Charles Memorial Gardens. Visit Baue.com for more information.
