MCHS boys basketball vs. Mexico

The Montgomery County boys basketball team placed second in the Montgomery County Invitational Tournament after losing 58-54 to Mexico in the finals of the eight-team tournament on Dec. 2. The Wildcats competed in the championship game of their own tournament for the first time since 2017. Junior Clayton Parker scored 26 points against Mexico and 63 points in the tournament to earn the event's MVP honors. He also surpassed the 1,000-point mark of his career.  Senior Jake Stellwagen was named to the all-tournament team. Mexico came back from a 28-22 halftime deficit to win  its third  tournament championship in four years and sixth overall. Theo Tate photos
