MCHS boys hoops at district semifinals

The Montgomery County boys basketball team knocked off the Bowling Green Bobcats 56-50 in a Class 4, District 7 semifinal game on March 4 at Ballew & Snell Court. The Wildcats improved to 19-7 and advanced to the district championship game against Hallsville on March 6 at North Callaway High School. MCHS never trailed in the contest against Bowling Green, storming to a 6-0 lead and never looking back. The Wildcats led 30-12 at halftime before Bowling Green rallied to get within four points, 43-39, with five minutes left in the game. Collin Parker scored 14 points, Ke'Lyjah Carter finished with 13 and Ty Leu added 11 to lead the Wildcats, who are the top seed in the six-team district tournament. THEO TATE PHOTOS
