MCHS cross country at New Haven Invitational

The Montgomery County cross country team began its season on Sept. 3 by having three runners earn medals at the New Haven Invitational. Senior Lyric Ford won the girls individual championship with a  time of 19:06, her second New Haven title and her fourth overall medal at the meet. Also in the girls race, junior Malia Rodgers placed fifth with a 20:13.71 for her third straight New Haven medal. Sophomore Zakery Welker finished 14th with an 18:55 in the boys race for his first cross country medal. The MCHS girls team placed fourth with 92 points, while the boys squad didn't field a full team as it had four runners. THEO TATE PHOTOS
