The Montgomery County girls basketball team took over sole possession of first place in the Eastern Missouri Conference standings after beating the Clopton Hawks 49-36 on Feb. 4 at MCHS. Junior Sam Queathem finished with 18 points, including 12 in the second quarter, and sophomore Hannah Broniec added 13 for the Wildcats, who improved to 5-0 in EMO play with the win over Clopton.
