MCHS girls hoops vs. North Callaway in Class 4A districts

The Montgomery County girls basketball team moved a step closer to its first district title in 23 years after beating North Callaway 65-28 in a Class 4, District 7 quarterfinal game on March 1 at Ballew & Snell Court. Renee Finke scored 22 points and Malia Rodgers finished with 12 to lead MCHS. With the win, the Wildcats improved to 20-6, making it the first time since 1998 (their last district championship) they reached the 20-win mark. MCHS won its 11th straight game and beat North Callaway for the second time in six days. On Feb. 23, the Wildcats cruised past the Kingdom City school 57-11 in their regular season finale to clinch their second straight Eastern Missouri Conference crown. THEO TATE PHOTOS.
