MCHS track at Class 3, District 4 meet

The Montgomery County track team competed in the Class 3, District 4 championship meet on  May 13 and 15 at North Point and Montgomery County high schools. The Wildcats qualified for the Class 3, Sectional 2 meet at Mexico in 14 events. MCHS had district champions in Lyric Ford (800, 1600), Malia Rodgers (3,200), Weston Marshall (javelin) and the boys 800-meter relay of Jacer Brower, Dominic Luttrell, Brenden Luttrell and Jadrian Thurmon. El Reagan, last year's state champion in the pole vault, finished fourth in the event to advance to sectionals. Tyler Erwin qualified for sectionals in the high, long and triple jumps. Other sectional qualifiers were Brower (400 boys), Thurmon (800 boys), 4x200 boys, 4x400 boys and 4x800 girls. The district meet had a pair of weather delays at the North Point campus on May 13, forcing two of the events (girls long jump and boys triple jump) to be held at MCHS two days later.
