Jonesburg resident Kelsey Miller was named the 2023 Missouri State Fair Queen in a ceremony held on Aug. 10 in Sedalia.
Miller received the highest score of 35 contestants vying for the title in the two-day competition, which was held at the Mathewson Exhibition Center. Miller will be an ambassador for the State Fair and Missouri agriculture throughout the coming year.
The 18-year-old Miller was crowned queen of the Warren County Fair. She also was the Northeast District FFA Expo Queen.
A graduate of Warrenton High School, Miller is currently attending the University of Missouri-Columbia. By winning the queen contest, she will receive a $2,000 scholarship to continue her education.
Miller, who lives in the Warren County section of Jonesburg, enjoys showing her cattle and rabbits each year, working at the Beef House and displaying her exhibits at both the 4-H and FFA buildings. She also has three younger sisters, Kaitlyn, Savannah and Isabella. All three of them attended Warrenton High School.
