Six Montgomery City Elementary students competed in the Regional MCTM Student Mathematics Contest on April 4 at Montgomery County High School.
They were third-grade students Kennedy Caldwell, Thomas Panage and Annalee Daniels and fourth-grade students Alva Powell, Lillian Elder and Miles Beattie.
All six students qualified to compete in the state competition as part of the Missouri State MCTM Mathematics Contest on May 9 at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia.
In the third-grade division, Kennedy earned fourth place in number sense, first place in sprint and fourth place in target to finish with a third-place overall finish. Thomas earned second place in number sense, third in sprint and second in target to finish second overall. Annalee earned third place in number sense, fourth in sprint and third in target to finish fourth overall.
In the fourth-grade division, Alva placed 10th in number sense, fourth in sprint and sixth in target to finish seventh overall. Lillian came fifth in number sense and spring and seventh in target to finish fifth overall. Miles was second in number sense and 10th in sprint to finish 10th overall.
