On April 12, deputies conducted a traffic stop in Jonesburg after observing a vehicle fail to signal and operate with defective equipment. According to reports the driver refused to provide identification and repeatedly argued about constitutional rights while refusing lawful commands to exit the vehicle. Deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation, however, the driver continued to resist and made movements toward his waistband, prompting the deployment of a taser. After continued resistance deputies were able to remove the driver from the vehicle and place him into custody. During the arrest a handgun and ammunition were located on the driver, who was later determined to be a convicted felon. The suspect was transported to the MC Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and driving while revoked/suspended.
On April 14, deputies were conducting routine patrol in Wellsville when they observed a suspicious person in an alleyway. Deputies made contact with the subject and through their investigation they discovered the subject had an active warrant for his arrest out of Montgomery County for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject was arrest and transported to the MC Jail.
Also on April 14, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration plates in Montgomery City. During the course of the stop deputies discovered the driver’s driving privileges were suspended. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with driving while suspended.
Again on April 14, deputies were patrolling the Jonesburg area when they observed a subject, known to have a suspended driver’s license, operating a vehicle. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and confirmed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with driving while suspended.
On April 16, deputies responded to a residence in High Hill for a disturbance involving an unwanted subject. According to reports an individual arrived at the residence unannounced to see a child, which led to a verbal altercation with the occupants. During the incident the individual allegedly charged toward one of the residents in a threatening manner before leaving the scene. Video surveillance confirmed the events and the reporting parties declined prosecution but requested the individual be formally trespassed from the property. Deputies made contact with the individual nearby, issued a trespass warning and this incident was documented as an informational report.
