On May 7, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 161 after observing a vehicle traveling 77 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputies reported the driver failed to immediately stop for emergency lights and continued driving through several streets before pulling into a residence on Salisbury Street in Montgomery City. Deputies observed the driver making furtive movements inside the vehicle and later determined the individual did not possess a valid driver’s license and was required to have an ignition interlock device installed, which was not present. A records check revealed the driver’s license was revoked with an extensive history of prior alcohol-related driving offenses. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with Driving While Revoked/Suspended and Failure to Maintain an Ignition Interlock Device.

On May 8, deputies took a trespassing report involving a female subject allegedly entering private property despite posted “No Trespassing” signs and purple paint markings. According to reports, the property owner confronted the individual, who allegedly acknowledged disregarding the warnings. Video surveillance footage reportedly captured the subject walking down the private drive and approaching the residence. The reporting party requested prosecution for trespassing, and the case has been forwarded to the Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.

On May 9, deputies responded to the Jonesburg FastLane for a reported disturbance involving family members. According to reports, two individuals engaged in a physical altercation inside the business, which included shoving, hair pulling and punching. Witness statements confirmed both parties were actively involved in the assault. Both individuals were arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with Domestic Assault 4th Degree.

Also on May 9, Montgomery County deputies initiated a traffic stop on a black pickup truck traveling westbound on Interstate 70 after receiving multiple reports of reckless driving, including speeding, swerving through traffic and forcing motorists off the roadway. According to reports, the driver refused to comply with commands and fled, leading deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers on a high-speed pursuit through Montgomery, Callaway and Boone counties. During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds from a handgun toward pursuing law enforcement officers while continuing to drive recklessly at speeds exceeding 100 mph. Officers also reported the suspect intentionally swerved toward troopers attempting to deploy spike strips.

The pursuit ended in Boone County after the suspect drove the wrong way through multiple roundabouts, lost control of the vehicle and crashed. The suspect then fled on foot before being apprehended by deputies and troopers without further incident. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of multiple firearms, ammunition, body armor and suspected drug paraphernalia. The suspect was transported for medical evaluation and later booked into the MC Jail. The suspect is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond for the following charges: 2 Counts of Assault 1st. Degree on LEO, 2 Counts of Armed Criminal Action, Aggravated Fleeing a Stop, Discharge of Firearm from a Motor Vehicle at Person, DWI and C&I Driving.

Again on May 9, deputies conducted a traffic stop near Tree Farm Road and Highway 19 in New Florence after observing a vehicle traveling without headlights or taillights illuminated. According to reports, the driver was unable to provide a valid driver’s license and admitted to being in the United States illegally. Deputies confirmed the driver only possessed a foreign passport and no valid operating privileges. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending a possible immigration detainer and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License.

On May 10, deputies responded to a residence in Bellflower for a reported domestic disturbance involving a mother and adult son. According to reports, an argument escalated when the son allegedly pushed the victim to the floor during a confrontation inside the residence. Deputies observed evidence consistent with the disturbance upon arrival and conducted interviews with both parties. After the investigation, the son was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with Domestic Assault 4th Degree – Special Victim.

On May 11, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Bellflower area after recognizing a driver believed to be operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license. According to reports, a records check confirmed the driver did not possess a valid Missouri operator’s license. The driver initially claimed to have a hardship license but later admitted he did not have one. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the MC Jail before being released pending charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on a Highway Without a Valid License.

Also on May 11, deputies conducted a traffic stop in Wellsville after observing a driver known to have an expired Missouri driver’s license operating a vehicle on East Hudson Street. According to reports, a records check confirmed the driver’s license had expired in August 2023. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the MC Jail before being released pending charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on a Highway Without a Valid License.

On May 13, deputies conducted a traffic stop near Highway 19 and Mitchell Road in New Florence after observing a vehicle following another vehicle too closely. According to reports, the driver and two passengers provided foreign identification cards and admitted to being present in the United States illegally. Deputies determined the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license and that the occupants were traveling together for employment purposes. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was contacted, and detainers were issued for all three individuals. The subjects were transported to the MC Jail and held on the Immigration Detainers and additional pending charges against the driver for Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid License.
