On June 18, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the New Florence area for expired registration. During the course of the traffic stop deputies discovered the driver’s driving privileges were suspended and that the driver had an active warrant for his arrest. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with driving while revoked and failing to register a motor vehicle.
On June 19, deputies responded to a residence in Montgomery City for a reported harassment complaint. Through the course of the investigation deputies learned a former inmate of the Montgomery County Jail had shown up at a Detention Officer’s residence. The individual had previously made threats to “get payback” with the Detention Officer during prior professional contacts and had also previously harassed her husband at his place of employment. Deputies located the suspect in town and while attempting to take the subject into custody he resisted arrest. After being taken into custody, he was transported to the MC Jail and charged with harassment, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence.
Also on June 19, deputies received a report of a careless and imprudent driver that had ran off the roadway, struck the median barrier and continued west on Interstate 70. Deputies located the suspect vehicle in New Florence as it pulled into a local restaurant. Upon contact with the driver deputies observed the driver displaying signs consistent with opioid use. Through further investigation deputies located a clear baggie containing 16 capsules of fentanyl concealed on her person, as well as an additional capsule inside the driver’s purse. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with trafficking drugs, driving while intoxicated (drugs), unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and careless and imprudent driving.
On June 20, deputies were in Jonesburg and observed a vehicle stop at a stop sign in the middle of the intersection. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and during the course of the investigation observed the driver acting extremely nervous and attempting to conceal something in her waistband. Through further investigation deputies located a baggie containing methamphetamine concealed on her person, along with a glass smoking pipe commonly used to ingest methamphetamine. While being placed under arrest the driver resisted deputies’ attempts to restrain her. Once in custody the driver was transported to the MC Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and failing to stop at a stop sign.
On June 23, deputies responded to the New Florence area for a report of a careless and imprudent driver. Deputies located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. During the course of the traffic stop deputies observed the driver displaying signs of impairment. While speaking with the driver she stated she believed she was in her hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. The driver was arrested and transported to the MC Jail. A subsequent blood alcohol content test was obtained showing the driver had a BAC over .200%. The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated.
