Everyone is invited to the Annual Mt. Horeb Historical Society Homecoming, celebrating the 189th year since the founding of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church.
The historic Mt. Horeb Church will be open with some new displays. Arrive at 11 a.m. for the noon Pot-Luck Dinner and Ice Cream Social under the shade trees. Everyone is encouraged to bring a covered dish and a lawn chair.
A free concert begins at 1 p.m. given by 4 the Gospel Quartet, a southern gospel group, from Church of the Shepherd of St. Charles.
A short business meeting of the Mt. Horeb Historical Society, which maintains the historic church house and its land, follows the concert.
There will be an election for one board member and for a new secretary/treasurer. The meeting is open to the public.
The event is on the corner of Mt. Horeb Church Road and Prairie Fork Road in Montgomery County, southwest of Williamsburg. From the South Service Road, take YY and turn right at the end of the pavement.
