For the second year in a row, Clayton Parker and Malia Rodgers were named to the Class 3 all-state basketball team, which was released by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.
Parker, a junior, represented the Wildcats on the all-state boys team, while Rodgers, a senior, was the lone MCHS player on the all-state girls squad.
Parker also received all-Eastern Missouri Conference notice and earned all-district honors from the MBCA. He was named Class 3, District 7 Player of the Year.
Parker averaged 20 points per game with 275 rebounds. He also earned all-tournament honors at Montgomery County, South Callaway and Hermann and helped the Wildcats finish with 25 wins and capture fourth place in the Class 3 Show-Me Showdown.
Rodgers was also named to the all-EMO team as well as the MBCA all-district squad. She was voted the Class 3, District 7 Most Valuable Player.
Rodgers was named MVP of the Montgomery County Invitational and South Callaway Tournament. She was also selected to the all-tournament team at the Hermann Invitational. She broke MCHS’ all-time career scoring mark and helped the Wildcats win 22 games and capture a conference title.
Rodgers now has five all-state awards. She is a two-time all-state performer in cross country (freshman and sophomore years) and earned all-state honors in track in her freshman year.
