Patrick (Pat) Stephen Welschmeyer, 71, of Wellsville, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, in Mexico City, Mexico, while previously living throughout Mexico (Acapulco) and Columbia (Boone County).
Pat was born March 17, 1954, in Mexico (Audrain County). He was the son of Joseph Welschmeyer and Eileen (Worland) Welschmeyer.
Pat worked as a carpenter, building houses in St. Louis and surrounding suburbs, and even worked on the Callaway County Nuclear Facility. Pat also designed and built furniture. Pat was also fond of travelling and making friends with people throughout his journeys.
Pat is survived by his two sons, Josh Welschmeyer (Misato) of Yakima, Wash., and Jeremy Welschmeyer (Lacey) of Kansas City; grandchild, Jitsu; brother, Harold Welschmeyer of Mexico; three sisters, Jane Bellinghausen and husband Bob of Columbia, Barbara Jones and husband Larry of Fulton and Mary Beth Strassner and husband David of Swiss; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eileen (Worland) Welschmeyer; his sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Richard Miller; and his brother, Jim Welschmeyer.
The family will hold private services at a later date.
The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice. Donations may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
