Patricia Eileen Sinklear, age 80, of Middletown, passed away on July 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Patricia was born on September 30, 1945 to Elmer Lee Bartle and Margaret Grace Bartle. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Edwin Leon Sinklear, on August 15, 1964, in Washington (Franklin County). Together they shared nearly 62 years of marriage, building a life centered on love, hard work and family. Family was the heart of Patricia’s life, and nothing brought her greater happiness than seeing her family together and watching each new generation grow.
Patricia and Edwin Leon worked hard throughout their lives, but they never let work come before what mattered most—their family. They cherished camping trips, playing music, gathering around the table for card games with family, and watching their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play sports. Whether at home or around a campfire, Patricia found joy in simply being surrounded by those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Lee Bartle; her mother, Margaret Grace Bartle; and her brother, Remus “Ray” Bartle.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of nearly 62 years, Edwin Leon Sinklear; her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends.
Her daughter, Rhonda Lynn Saxton; Rhonda’s children, Andrew Robert Mergelmeyer, Daniel Allison and his wife, Nicole, with their children, Magnolia May Allison, Evangeline Ray Allison and a third child expected in October; and Tori Lynn Allison, with her children, Ian Michael Hull, Parker Leon Hull and Harper Lynn Eileen Calhoon, who proudly carries Patricia’s cherished middle name, Eileen.
Her son, Bradley William Sinklear and his fiancée, Dawn; his daughter, Nicole Lyn Sinklear; and her children, Harley Ro Brunner, Reegan Jo Brunner and Eli Jacob Sinklear.
Her son, John Paul Leon Sinklear and his wife, Tanya; their daughter, Alecia Ann Marie Short and her fiancé, Kory, and her son, Lincoln John Michael Short; their son, Michael Jacob Sinklear and his wife, Brooke, with their daughters, Nellie Raelyn Sinklear, Maylene Blake Sinklear and Dottie Rose Sinklear, and a fourth child expected in October; and their daughter, Chloe Michelle Sinklear and her fiancé, Jimmy, with her son, Marshall Leonard Wright.
Patricia is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Patricia will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. She never had a harsh word for or about anyone and always welcomed others with warmth, compassion and a smile. Her greatest joy was spending time with those she loved – whether camping, playing music, enjoying card games with family or cheering on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their sporting events.
Although our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in the love she gave so freely and in the family she and Edwin Leon built together. Her legacy of love, kindness, hard work and devotion to family will continue through each generation that follows. She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
In keeping with Patricia’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Those wishing to honor her memory are invited to make a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
