Pearl Rose Rutledge (nee: Potthast) of Prices Branch, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. She was born on September 27, 1946, in Warrenton to the late Herman and Nellie (nee: Dothage) Potthast. Pearl had reached the age of 76 years.
Pearl was united in marriage to the late Ronald Rutledge on March 14, 1964 and shared 57 wonderful years together. To this union, two children were born, Diane and Terry. Pearl's passion in life was her family. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and she loved each of them dearly. She also enjoyed baking and hosting family gatherings. She was known for her contagious smile, her giving heart and her Precious Moments figurine collection. Pearl was a member of Price’s Branch Christian Church for many years and carried a very strong faith. Pearl was a devoted Christian, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.
Pearl was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald; her parents, Herman and Nellie Potthast; and siblings, Violet Herndon, Manuel Potthast, Curtiss Potthast, Ruby Mann and Doris Groeber. Those who are grateful for having shared in Pearl's life are her children, Diane (Scott) Zhorela and Terry Rutledge; grandchildren, Courtney (Patrick) Neidhardt, Kelsi Zhorela, Corey Schemmer, Codey Schemmer, Brandon Whitaker, Austin Rutledge and Emily Rutledge; several great grandchildren; siblings, Sylvia McCarty and Winston Potthast; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation for Pearl will be from 10 a.m.-noon on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, followed by a funeral service at noon at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. Interment will follow at Price’s Branch Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations are appreciated to Price’s Branch Christian Church, in care of Martin Funeral Home in honor of Pearl.
