The Montgomery County softball team defeated Elsberry 1-0 in the Class 2, District 2 championship game on Oct. 22 at the Elsberry Ball Park Association fields. The Wildcats won their second district title in program history and their first since 2018. MCHS scored its only run in the top of the fifth, when Kenley Wessel scored on a strike-three passed ball that forced Trinty Brown to reach first base.
