The Piece Makers Quilt Guild met on Aug. 10 with Megan Cannistraro from the St. Louis chapter of Project Linus at First United Methodist Presbyterian Church to make its annual donation. The quilters work all year for their annual meeting with Megan and this year donated over 80 quilts.
Project Linus is a national organization founded in 1995 with over 300 charters in all 50 states. Its mission is to provide security through blankets and quilts which will be distributed to seriously ill children in hospitals, children who have experienced trauma, children in foster homes as well as to other charities.
Piece Makers have been contributing to this wonderful charity for almost 20 years and considers it one of the highlights of the year to gather with Megan to present her with the year’s work.
The guild meets once a month on the second Monday at FUMPC. They share quilting ideas and techniques as well as showing off their latest creations. All quilters regardless of skill level or years of experience—even if you are just a beginner or wanting to learn—are welcome.
