Roger See has recently retired as captain of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office after a 20-year tenure.

See’s dedication to serving others began when he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he devoted 12 years of his life defending his country and upholding the principles of honor and duty. While in the Army, See earned his Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration. As See transitioned from the military to civilian life, he continued his mission of service by working for the Division of Youth Services as a Youth Specialist. This role allowed him to mentor and guide young individuals, working to make a substantial impact in their lives with the hopes of setting them on the path to success.

In 1999, See began working as a Juvenile Officer in Montgomery County. In June of 2001, while working as a Juvenile Officer, See began his career with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office by taking a part-time job in the Jail Division. In September 2003, Roger began working full-time in the Jail Division, where he quickly distinguished himself as a leader and, by April of 2004, he earned the role of interim Jail Administrator. It was also during this time that See started attending the Eastern Missouri Police Academy (EMPA).

In October 2004, See’s commitment to excellence continued as he graduated EMPA with honors for top academics, top leadership and top marksmanship. Armed with a wealth of knowledge and skills, See returned to the Sheriff’s Office, where he was promptly commissioned as a licensed peace officer, promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and entrusted with the crucial role of Jail Administrator.

In August of 2008, See once again answered the call to serve in a new capacity, working alongside Lt. Victor Wiser in the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s Court Services Division – a role that allowed him to expand his influence and continue making a meaningful impact within his community and the criminal justice system.

In January of 2017, See assumed command over the Court Services Division and in recognition of his exceptional leadership and dedicated service, See was promoted to the rank of Captain in January of 2018. During his 15-year tenure with the Court Services Division, See has demonstrated unparalleled dedication, professionalism and an unwavering devotion to upholding the integrity of his division, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, peers, attorneys that frequent our court and judges in our circuit.
