Four Montgomery County area athletes earned medals in the second day of the Missouri state track meet on May 24 in Jefferson City. They were Samantha Turner and Emma Rodgers of Montgomery County and Elly Cash and Cooper Henderson of Wellsville-Middletown. Turner placed third in the shot put after coming in second in the discus the day before, Rodgers finished eighth in the 800, Cash was fourth in the 100 and sixth in the 200 and Henderson placed sixth in the 110-meter hurdles. Montgomery County's Tyler Erwin finished sixth in the long jump and Wellsville-Middletown's Gage Marshall came in eighth in the high jump in the first day of competition on May 23. Theo Tate photos
