Summer reading programs to begin at Montgomery City, Wellsville libraries

The Montgomery City and Wellsville public libraries will have summer reading programs under the theme, “Unearth A Story.”

The Montgomery City Public Library will have numerous activities during its two-month summer reading program, which will start on June 1 with National Dinosaur Day from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. It will have Movie Night at 7 p.m. on June 6, which will show the 1993 film, “We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Story.” Also, there will be International Mud Day from 9 a.m.-noon on June 27.

In July, MCPL will have a teen craft event from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. on the 6th, an adult craft event from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. on July 14 and an interactive movie night at 7 p.m. on July 11.

There will be summer reading programs on June 8 and 22 and July 13 and 27. On each day, programs for children ages 0-5 will start at 10 a.m. and programs for children ages 6-11 will begin at 2 p.m.

The Wellsville Public Library’s summer reading program will begin on June 2 and run through July 28. Programs will be held every Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Children ages 4-12 are eligible to attend.

The Missouri Department of Conservation will attend both libraries on June 29 – Wellsville at 1:30 p.m. and Montgomery City at 3 p.m.

Reading Rita will also be at both libraries. She’s scheduled to come to Montgomery City at 10 a.m. on July 10 and Wellsville at 1:30 p.m. on July 28.

Also, WPL will have a presentation from Mad Science on June 30.
