Seven Montgomery County and three Wellsville-Middletown baseball players brought home all-district awards this spring.
Noah Beck, Marshall Bishop, Adrian Combs, Colby Ellis, Mac Farrar. Chase Queathem and Seth Walton represented the Wildcats on the Class 3, District 5 baseball team. Andrew Maskey, Gage Nichols and Isaac Todd were the Tigers’ representatives on the Class 1, District 4 baseball squad.
Beck, Combs, Ellis, Farrar, Queathem and Todd were seniors this spring. Nichols was a junior, Bishop was a sophomore and Maskey was a freshman.
Ellis was named to the all-district team for the third year in a row. He was named first-team catcher. Ellis led the Wildcats in home runs (4) and RBIs (24) and finished with a .310 batting average. Last fall, he earned all-district honors in baseball.
Beck earned his second straight all-district baseball award after finishing with an 8-1 record and a 1.50 earned run average and hit. 329 with 22 RBIs. He was voted first-team pitcher.
Bishop, Combs, Farrar, Queathem and Walton were named to the all-district baseball team for the first time.
Combs was named second-team infielder after hitting .290 with a home run and 18 RBIs. He also earned an all-district award in his third sport. He was also named all-district in football and basketball.
Farrar was named first-team outfielder after hitting .309 with 16 RBIs and picked up three wins on the mound, including a complete-game, 5-0 victory over Bowling Green in a district semifinal game on May 16 at MCHS. Farrar earned all-district honors in football last fall.
Walton also earned first-team outfielder honors. He hit .343 with two home runs and 20 RBIs after missing most of last season due to an injury.
Queathem hit .303 with two home runs and 15 RBIs to receive second-team outfielder notice. He picked up an all-district award in football last fall.
Bishop was named first-team infielder after finishing as the Wildcats’ leading hitter with a .472 batting average. He also drove in 23 runs.
The Wildcats finished their season at 19-7. They were eliminated by eventual state runner-up Duchesne in the district finals, losing 10-0.
Maskey, Nichols and Todd earned all-district awards in baseball for the first time.
Todd, the Tigers’ only senior, was named first-team infielder. He also picked up an all-district award in track after coming in first in the discus in the Class 1, District 2 meet in New Haven.
Maskey was voted first-team infielder/pitcher and Nichols earned an honorable mention award at catcher.
W-M finished with three wins, including a 5-4 victory over Madison in nine innings in a district quarterfinal game. Before this season, the Tigers hadn’t won a postseason game since 2023.
