An accident that occurred on eastbound I-70 between New Florence and Danville caused serious injuries for a pair of female teenage passengers on the afternoon of April 10.
Both passengers were 15 years old, one was from Columbia and the other was from Fulton. They rode in the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was driven by a 21-year old female from Columbia. They were transported to University Hospital.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2022 Kenworth T680, which was driven by a 22-year-old male driver from Grandview, merged into the left lane when unsafe to do so and the towed unit of the car struck the Jeep. The Jeep came to a rest in the median and the Kenworth came to a controlled stop on the right shoulder.
