The Montgomery County R-II activities department released the dead period schedule for all athletics and activities during the summer for grades 7-12.
For all fall sports – football, volleyball, softball and cross country – the dead period is from Aug. 1-Aug. 9. The dead period for activities such as cheerleading, band, choir and academic bowl is from July 12.
During these dead periods, there should be no grades 7-12 activities and sports-related activities at the R-II school campus.
The first day for the Montgomery County High School fall sports practices is Aug. 10. Montgomery County Middle School starts its fall practices on Aug. 17.
The fall parent meeting for high school participants and parents is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Aug. 9 at the MCHS gymnasium.
