Wellsville-Middletown baseball at Class 1 quarterfinals

Posted

The Wellsville-Middletown baseball season ended in heartbreaking fashion as the Tigers lost 9-8 to the Leeton Bulldogs in nine innings in a Class 1 state quarterfinal game at Leeton High School. The Tigers wrapped up their season at 11-10. They were leading 8-6 in the bottom of the eighth and were one out away from going to the Final Four before Leeton rallied to tie the game at 8-8 and won the contest after Reed Manley was hit by a pitch by W-M's Clayton Ebers. This was the Tigers' third trip to the state quarterfinals in program history. They last advanced to the Final Four in 2017. THEO TATE PHOTOS
