The Wellsville-Middletown boys basketball team clinched its first Final Four berth since 1987 with a 66-59 win over the North Shelby Raiders in a Class 1 state quarterfinal on March 5 at Truman State University in Kirksville. The Tigers improved to 20-6 and advanced to play Stanberry in a state semifinal game on March 11 at Missouri State University in Springfield. Senior Keaton Mayes finished with 21 points, junior Logan Pursifull scored 17 points and senior Isaac Seabaugh added 10 for the Tigers, who defeated North Shelby in the state quarterfinals in 1987 to advance to their last Final Four appearance.
