Wellsville-Middletown track at Class 1 district meet

The Wellsville-Middletown boys track team won its first district title in program history on May 6, placing first in the Class 1, District 2 meet at South Callaway High School with 127 points. The Tigers had first-place finishes in five events to earn their second straight district plaque. They placed second in last year's districts at Glasgow.  Seniors Jacob Mandrell, Lucas Moore, Dylan Alsop, Kaleb Peak and Logan Pursifull and sophomores Jonah Slovensky, Cooper Henderson, Gage Marshall and Hunter Bickell  qualified for sectionals for the W-M boys. Bethany Slovensky is the W-M girls' lone sectional representative as she won the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles and placed second in the long jump. Theo Tate photos
