Wildcats-Tigers softball

The Montgomery County Wildcats won their fifth straight game after cruising past the Wellsville-Middletown Tigers 17-0 in three innings on Sept. 29 in a contest between cross-country teams at W-M. The Wildcats improved to 11-5 overall and 5-3 in Eastern Missouri Conference play, while the Tigers dropped to 0-11. MCHS senior Brooklynn Fischer threw her first perfect game of her high school softball career, retiring all nine W-M batters and striking out six. She had tossed two no-hitters, one against Hermann on Aug. 31 and the other against Paris last year. W-M celebrated senior night as Brooke Reichardt and Lexi Kemp and manager Kaleb Turner were recognized after the game. THEO TATE PHOTOS
